New Nogatsaa Pans Lodge opens in Chobe National Park

A new camp has opened it’s doors along the Ngwezumba River. A project by Ghoha Hills, Nogotsaa Pans Lodge has 12 luxury tented suites that overlook the Nogotsaa Pan in the heart of the Chobe National Park in Botswana.

The lodge is completely solar powered, and consists of 8 double and twin luxury suites, and 2 family suites, all with outdoor showers, according to reservations manager Linda Arthur. The camp is located some 80 km south of the Chobe River and is the only camp in the Nogotsaa region of the reserve.

The lodge provides complimentary wifi, along with a host of game viewing activites which includes guided walks and game drives through the surround Mopane woodlands.

Botswana's Camp Moremi is going to undergo renovations in 2018

Management of Camp Moremi, in Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana informed of it’s plans to undergo a complete renovation whereby the entire camp will be rebuilt on a raised deck, connected to rooms/suites with raised walkways which will protect guests from the multitude of surrounding game that frequents the camp.

“Guests will access the camp on gradual elevated decks leading up to a welcome area and curio shop. The elevated public areas will be positioned to create more private areas for our guests to relax and enjoy the environment as well as the views of the Xakanaxa lagoon,” said James Wilson – Moremi Camp's marketing manager.

Zambezi Cruise Safaris launch new weekly cruises in 2018

Zambezi Cruise Safaris have revealed an exciting update to their frequency of weekly cruises. From 2018, cruises that leave from Victoria Falls will be introduced. The cruise will offer a two-to-three night Sengwe and Rusi River experience (from Binga - Victoria Falls end of Lake Kariba). 

The weekly departures will be on a Wednesday for the two-night cruises, and a Saturday for the three-night cruises. This addition to the safaris on offer means that guests have increased opportunity to view and experience the tranquil scenery and nature of the unspoilt river, with frequent sightings of hippo and herds of elephant.

Botswana's new camp opening

Qorokwe Camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta is scheduled to open in December 2017.

The camp is located in the Qorokwe Concession, which borders the renowned Moremi Game Reserve. The camp has 9 spacious tented suites, 1 of which is a family suite with a private splash pool.

Qorokwe Camp features a dining area, lounge, library, bar and swimming pool built on raised platforms. The camp will offer game drives, walks, boating and mokoro activities, offering encounters of species that may include lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah and elephant, amongst others.

KAZA visa now available for those travelling to Zambia

The Zambia Tourism Agency is advising all foreign travellers that are visiting Zambia that the KAZA visa is now available. The visa, which follows the same terms and conditions governing the KAZA visa, is already being issued at four Zambian borders (Kenneth Kaunda International, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airports, Kazungula and Victoria Falls Borders).

The visa is applicable to nationals for 65 countries in the Category B list on the visa regimes of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The KAZA visa fee is US$50 and it is issued on arrival only at the four ports of entry mentioned above. It is valid for 30 days and is issued on a multiple entry basis between the two countries.

River Lodge Update
At Kapama Private Game Reserve, we pride ourselves in keeping up to date with global luxury standards, specifically with regards to facilities and features. In order to ensure that our valued guests receive the best quality, service and value we ensure to maintain a regular refurbishment plan to keep all our lodges inviting.

Our initial refurbishment schedule for Kapama River Lodge was planned for March 2019 – July 2019. Due to the remarkable interest in reserving accommodation over these dates, we have decided to push out our schedule to 2020 in order to meet these demands and keep our guests happy. 

We have done a thorough assessment of all our River Lodge suites, from standard to family rooms. We are confident that all our suites and other facilities are more than capable of continuing to accommodate guests at our 5-Star rating, with no compromise on quality, luxury, value for money and more importantly the Kapama promise, until our refurbishment is completed.

Therefore, we would like to officially inform you that River Lodge will be undergoing an extensive refurbishment from 1st March 2020. We anticipate the refurbishment to be completed by 31st July 2020. We kindly ask that you take this into consideration when communicating availability to the market.

We are very excited about what the new look and feel will bring to River Lodge and the Kapama brand and we will communicate updates as and when they occur.

Camp Moremi will undergo a complete rebuild, commencing 01 December 2017 and the newly rebuilt Camp Moremi will open on 01 May 2018.
Camp Moremi will be rebuilt in its existing site with the dining, lounge and other public areas raised high up in the ebony tree connected by elevated boardwalks. Guests will access the camp on gradual elevated decks leading up to a welcome area and curio shop. The elevated public areas will be beautifully positioned to create more private areas for our guests to relax and enjoy the environment as well as the views of the Xakanaxa Lagoon.
Honouring the traditional style of the camp, the boardwalk will descend to ground level where pathways will lead to the rooms, fireplace, swimming pool and the famous Xakanaxa Lagoon viewing deck.
The twelve rooms, consisting of eleven standard rooms and one large family room, will be constructed using a combination of traditional canvas tenting and modern natural materials designed to keep the rooms cool, bright and spacious. Each room will be built within the rich riparian forest which will provide cooling shade and a myriad of bird and animal life around the camp.

Royal Livingstone Express Schedule Update - Monday, Wednesday & Saturday from the 5th of March 2018

Royal Livingstone Express, the beautiful steam locomotive and carriages on offer as one of our core Zambian activities, will increase scheduled runs from Monday 5th March 2018. We are upping our dinner runs to the Victoria Falls Bridge from two to three times a week. The luxury carriage will be travelling every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday as of March 2018. 

Guests will now have additional opportunities to book a trip on the classic steam expedition - an opportunity not to be missed.
