Khorixas Conradie Stadium was visited by four elephants recently, animals pushed the fence down and gained entry to the pitch last week.

A security guard at Khorixas known only as Bernard told reporters that a noise was heard at around four o'clock in the morning and he witnessed four bulls in the pitch.

According to the guard, the pitch was being watered in preparation for a soccer game that was due to take place over the weekend. He believes that animals were attracted by the water and they usually come to drink water at the sewerage dams which is about a kilometer from the stadium.
To add insult to injury, the elephants left the pitch strewn with dung. One of the soccer players said that team had to pick up the dung and make sure everything was cleaned up before the visitors arrive. It was everywhere. He hopes the elephants won't stop by again, as players are also training at night making it quite dangerous.

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp, received the "Out of this World" award at the Tatler Travel Awards held in London recently, the awards took place at the Ham Yard Hotel in November.

Self-driving travellers have different overnight options. Some can choose to stay in full board hotels and some in self-catering accommodation, or at camping sites. Campers have the option of travelling with and staying in a mobile homes or campervans, or to camp the old-fashioned way in tents. However nowadays there are so many gadgets and such a variety of equipment available in the outdoor shops to make your trip more comfortable.  You can decide which of these things you want to take along to add some convenience to your camping, but there are some basic things that you will need for shelter and preparing your food.

Some essentials are:
