Greetings from Rossmund Golf Resort & Lodge!
We have a lot of exciting news this month. In the world of golf, Jordan Spieth has secured the number one spot for the year, and probably golfer of the year, while Tiger is having another back surgery. We have tips from Ernie, gems from Jordan, and some of the most amazing recov-ery shots ever filmed inside!
In other news, the Rossmund Clubhouse Restaurant has hired a new sous chef, and we have a ton of events coming up through the festive season. The lodge’s new veggie garden is bearing fruit (ok vegetables)!
SUMMER SEASON
Golf Special Rates 18 holes – N$200 for Namibians, N$280 for SADC. Golf carts N$240.00. (half price for 9 holes).

GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE REPORT
. Just finished hollow tining in preparation for summer.
. We are carrying on with general maintenance, replacing dead spots and freshening up the grass.
. We have put a top dressing on the Greens.
. We have vertically scarified the fairways.

News from the Restaurant
GREETINGS FROM THE KITCHEN!
We just want to remind residents that we offer free takeaway from the restaurant, and golfers are always welcome for our Sunday Specials!
We would also like to introduce our new sous chef, Ignatius Diergaardt.
Ignatius was born in South Africa and raised in Namibia. He did both primary and secondary school in Windhoek until 2002, when he matriculated at David Bezuidenhout High School. His first job out of school was as a waiter at the Grand Canyon Spur. After two years of waiting tables he decided to take it to the next level. So he went to Cape Town and studied hospitality management at the Hotel and Tourism Academy.
He then went on to study professional cookery at IHEASA, where he obtained a diploma. After four years of work in some top Cape Town Restaurants and further study, he decided to bring his new knowledge and experience back home.
He has worked a number of jobs in Namibia and worked in dif-ferent kitchens with different faces and personalities. Finally he wound up at Rossmund Golf Resort and Lodge. Ignatius’s message: “I would like to invite the Swakopmund com-munity and the rest of Namibia to come and try our broad vari-ety of cuisine and dishes prepared from the soul.”

Events & Marketing at Rossmund
Yes, we know, it is early to start talking about Christmas, but accord-ing to the USA and Europe, we are very late in posting our Christmas season events! We want to make you aware early, as you are sure to see a lot more Christmas events coming up! It is also a busy wedding season, so we will be enjoying the festive season for more reasons than just the holidays!
Lodge News
Spring is in the air! The weather is turning, although there does seem to be some resistance of late! We have, nonetheless, managed to get our garden going with fresh spinach and herbs!
Rossmund Lodge would like to remind you that we are now available for direct bookings through the Nights-bridge system.
And don’t forget our Friday night curry evenings!

The Rossmund Lodge hosts guests visiting from all over the world as well as an increasing number of busi-ness guests. We thought that we would showcase some of the activities available at the coast—fun for locals and visitors alike.
