Sun Destinations is excited to announce the launch of a brand new South Africa Camp into our portfolio. Umkumbe Bush Lodge is situated in the Southern Sabi Sand Wildtuin now known as the Sabie Game Reserve.
Umkumbe Bush Lodge shares the same traverse area with the stunning and extremely popular Umkumbe Safari Lodge which will enable these two gems to host larger groups and events like Bush Weddings.
We can’t wait for your guests to come and experience this unique and authentic tented camp.
UMKUMBE BUSH LODGE
Nestled near the seasonal Sand River, in a beautiful forested thicket, this brand new family-run lodge is located in the iconic and wildlife rich Sabie Game Reserve which forms part of the Greater Kruger and shares unfenced borders with famed Kruger National Park.
This uniquely designed bush lodge can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 tented style suites. Elevated on wooden decks, each suite has it’s own private balcony and is fully equipped for a comfortable bushveld glamping retreat.
Built around a weeping Boer-bean, the main lodge overlooks a variety of habitats - a winding drainage line leading to the seasonal Sand River, a forested thicket and a section of open savanna. Guests can wildlife watch, relax and take in the wilderness surrounds in between activities and meals.
Now onto the safari experience - Sharing their wealth of knowledge with you, your guide can teach you all about life in the WILD, everything from the intricate life cycles of dung beetles, to an array of fascinating big-five facts. Trackers skilfully read the signs in nature and work with the guide to locate a variety of life, from prowling big cats to boisterous buffalo herds.

BOTSWANA VAT INCREASE
In order to broaden the domestic revenue base, The Botswana government has announced a VAT increase which came into effect as of 1st April 2021 – the increase in VAT is from 12% to 14%.
All Sun Destinations Botswana rates will therefore be increasing by 2%.
All bookings already in place will be honoured at the original VAT amount; however, all new bookings will have the applicable 2% VAT increased applied.
