RARE EARTH ACQUIRES CAPE VIEW CLIFTON
Rare Earth Retreats, a carefully curated portfolio of luxury travel properties, welcomes Cape View Clifton to its portfolio. The acquisition sees the portfolio growing to an offering of seven exclusive properties in South Africa, and Rare Earth’s first step into Cape Town.
“Our collection is made up of the best hand-picked Bush, Beach and Country locations in South Africa, from The Outpost Lodge in Northern Kruger to The Old Rectory Hotel & Spa in Plettenberg Bay. Cape View Clifton adds a wonderful dynamic to the Beach portfolio, we are thrilled to have this new property as a part of the family. We take the reins from long-time friend, Jess Latimer, the original owner and creative force who built the world-class, leading luxury guest house as well as its reputation.” – Shareholder, Chick Legh.
“As one of the world’s most desirable and exciting locations Cape Town was an obvious choice for us to look to, to grow our property and hospitality offering. There are few places in the world that offer this kind of luxury in such a spectacular setting.” Shareholder, Thys van Heerden.
Cape View Clifton offers seven elegantly-appointed, expansive suites, each with uninterrupted views of Cape Town’s iconic Clifton and Camps Bay coastline. The design and layout are crisp, clean and effortless, decorated in calm-inducing hues and peppered with subtle African touches and modern artwork. Established high on the slopes of Lion's Head, Cape View Clifton offers the perfect balance between privacy and access to Cape Town’s top restaurants, sights and beaches. Rare Earth will take over operations from 1 May 2018.
Facilities include three deluxe suites, and two junior suites, a three bedroom family suite and a two bedroom suite, all sea-facing with private balconies. There is also a large pool deck with loungers, pool, dining area and private gymnasium.
“Dramatic and truly unique views, international luxury standard service as well as truly passionate and inspired staff are the hallmark of Rare Earth. Cape View Clifton along with The Old Rectory Hotel & Spa in Plettenberg Bay ensure that the Beach portfolio is truly bespoke. “ Lauren Ritchie, Rare Earth CEO
