South Africa: The Africa On Foot Treehouse

The Africa On Foot Treehouse | Before & After

Built back in 1997, the Africa On Foot treehouse has recently had a total revamp, transforming it from a rustic raised retreat into a luxurious hideaway.

The original build was a thatched, two-platform treehouse, the lower level was used as a lounge and the upper level, the bedroom. The new design incorporates both on one large platform, still entwined under iconic Marula trees, it’s now totally modernized and in keeping with the camp’s eco-friendly ethos, made using local materials.

Every new element, from the design to the decor takes inspiration from its natural surrounds. Simple, stylish and still accentuating its 160-degree wilderness view.

At the end of the day your guide will escort you to the treehouse, where you can spend the night listening to the Klaserie crescendo before falling asleep under the stars in your open-air hideout.

The Africa On Foot treehouse is perfect for fearless romantics and nature enthusiasts. Overlooking the distant Drakensberg Mountains and the bustling bushveld below, relive those childhood memories and truly immerse yourself in nature by opting to spend a night in this treetop retreat.
