Latest News from Kangara Safaris

Spectacular Savute.

Over Easter we decided to go and scope out Savute. For 3 nights we were spoiled with having this diverse area to ourselves. It did not disappoint. Marsh Pride at Marabou Pan, a very shy elusive leopard with its impala kill in the brow of a Raintree, morning coffee under a gallery of baobabs and sundowners watching the evening glow radiate of Bushman Hill. The drive from Maun was 6 hours in duration but well worth it and if you are prepared and well briefed as to expectations then you cannot be disappointed.

At Kangara we are very strong on managing guests expectations.

Savute is incorporated into one of our 5 night packages which combines Northern Moremi and Savute, with a transfer straight out to Kasane. Please e-mail for a detailed itinerary.

Travel to Botswana

Regulations remain the same as our previous newsletters. Safari Industry and self - drive market is slowly picking up. We hope to be operating our first safari in July, our last being March 2019 just before Botswana went into lockdown.

Kangara is ready! Our vehicles are serviced, our insurance is in place and staff are undergoing new Standard Operating Procedures with Covid measures in place!

Other News!

Moremi Game Reserve is now open after being closed due to flooding. We took a day trip out there to check it for ourselves to the Xini and Blackpools area. A lot of water and deep crossings but still manageable. Hippo and Crocodile of course and big cats were seen outside the park close to Kaziikini.

OKMCT, the community that we work with to run mokoro safaris into NG32 have announced quite a significant hike in daily rates for 2022, to include daily mokoro hire rates on top of your guide rates and entrance fees.

And Last of All.....

Our 2022 rates are out, with 3 levels of safari comfort.

Raintree Camp

Progress is slow as we still await funding. Regardless we hope to have a campsite up and running this year. We are halfway through building a main ablution block. Progress will be in stages until we reach our final product of private campsites with private ablutions and self-catering chalets. Contact us for more info and rates.
