Indalo Hotels & Leisure Management to run Cape Town’s Fountains Hotel
Johannesburg - Indalo Hotels & Leisure Management, a newly established hotel and leisure group, has added another hotel property to its portfolio by taking over the hotel management of the Fountains Hotel, an iconic Cape Town hotel situated in the heart of the city.
Andrew Rogers, CEO Indalo Hotels & Leisure Management says the opportunity has come about fortuitously as the hospitality industry starts to recover from a COVID-19 induced lull, driven mainly by pent-up local leisure demand, a swiftly returning business sector and more importantly international tourism returning to the Mother City as many global airlines, from source markets, are selecting Cape Town as a destination.
“We are excited about the prospects for the industry going into 2022 and our priority at Fountains Hotel is to streamline operations, boost revenues and occupancies as well as improve the overall guest satisfaction,” says Rogers, an industry expert with over 27-years of hospitality experience in Southern Africa.
With South Africa recently lifted off the United Kingdom's red list and Europe and the USA lifting travel restrictions, Rogers says international arrivals should pick up in the new year along with growing stronger local leisure demand.
“In the next six months we have at least three additional properties in the pipeline as we build a sustainable hospitality management brand and we remain cautious but optimistic about the future of this industry,” adds Rogers.
He said as a mid-market hotel, Fountains Hotel was set to bounce back in the short to mid-term. The hotel is within a two-kilometre radius from multiple landmark locations in Cape Town’s central business district with easy access to tourist attractions such as the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, the Two Oceans Aquarium and Table Mountain.
