There are life guards on duty to protect the bathers, as well as shark nets to prevent any unwelcomed encounters with these beautiful hunters.
Thompson Bay is close to a number of other popular beaches along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline; including Zimbali, Clarke Bay, Willard and Salt Rock beaches.
Thompson Bay is the perfect destination for those that want to enjoy the hot, humid conditions of KwaZulu-Natal within the tranquility of a secluded spot. The tourist attractions of the bigger towns are a mere drive away, making them accessible and convenient.
Thompson's Bay Beach, also known as "hole in the wall" - is tucked between Ballito and Shaka's Rock - possibly one of the most beautiful beaches in Ballito! The Tidal Pool is great fun for the kids, easy to get to and super walks and scenery. But beware, it can be extremely busy during holiday periods.
