Wildlife at Okahirongo Namibia

Wildlife: it’s a real hustle and bustle here at Ojkahirongo! While the Giraffes are a common site from Elephant Lodge, we were thrilled to have the Desert Adapted Elephants walk past the lodge the on the 11th of November as well. And this while the guests were out looking for them.... The Leopard at Elephant Lodge is also extremely active, and we often hear them calling at night. Imagine our delight when we were recently surprised by a leopard kill behind our generator room! It has been reported that huge lion tracks were found only a few kilometres from the Lodge on the way to the Khumib River. We had a look at the Desert Lion Project’s website and saw that the Terrace Male is in the region. How fortunate can we be! We are proud to say that there are 4 Rhinos in the area that are spotted regularly.
