South Africa & Botswana: FedAIR news: Singita Jet Service suspension | Сингита Южная Африка

SINGITA JET SERVICE

Update from FedAIR

After much deliberation and consultation Federal Airlines has taken the decision to suspend the Singita Jet Service indefinitely.

This decision was not taken lightly, but the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on passengers numbers has dramatically affected the viability of this flight service.

For those partners looking for exclusive flight options to Singita Sabi Sands, Federal Airlines Charter Services are available to create some suitable options for your guests.

Singita, the award-winning (“Place of Miracles”) is part of the Sabi Sands Game Lodge and falls across three different countries - Zimbabwe, Tanzania and South Africa. It is the ultimate in luxury safari experiences, so your method of getting there should be equally top-class.

Federal Air is the leading partner to premium safari lodges like Singita and is the air shuttle service of choice for discerning game reserve visitors.

At OR Tambo International Airport you will be met by a friendly flight representative, who will either assist you with check-in (10 minutes before the flight) or, if you’re early, whisk you off to the exclusive passenger lounge. Here, you can enjoy a myriad amenities, including a hot shower, Internet access, boutique shopping and refreshments.

TRADE UPDATE - FEDERAL AIRLINES OPERATIONS

TRADE UPDATE – FEDERAL AIRLINES OPERATIONS

The COVID-19 pandemic and the global travel restrictions imposed to contain the spread of the virus continues to impact airlines and the wider tourism markets throughout Africa including Namibia negatively.

Given such international travel restrictions and the elevated infection and death rates in the USA, UK and other European counties, we have been impacted by the deferral of bookings by agents and customers into Q4 2020 and the first half of 2021.

As a result of this, Federal Airlines saw that demand for its full shuttle and charter services would significantly reduce for the rest of the 2020 year.

In light of the above, and after careful consideration, Federal Airlines has in the past few weeks started with the process of restructuring the company to adjust to this downturn over the rest of the 2020 year, as follows:

We are restructuring our aircraft fleet, retained two B1900Ds, two PC12s and two C208Bs that will adequately cater for the required bookings and reservations between May 2020 and December 2020. During this time if customer demand increases, we will be able to scale up and reintroduce additional capacity to the fleet.
To allow crewing, operational, and support staff levels to fall in line with the reduced aircraft fleet, a retrenchment process has, unfortunately, formed part of the restructure. All remaining staff unaffected by reductions in our staff complements have also agreed to a voluntary reduction in salary.

During this current lockdown period, all non-essential employees are on paid annual leave, with those employees responsible for essential critical tasks continuing to work from home. Our charter and shuttle booking platforms and all key customer support staff remain available to assist with all bookings and queries.

Federal Airlines has during late March 2020 and early April 2020 been performing some essential cargo flights to neighbouring countries with much needed medical supplies. We maintain operational readiness for any flights that may be required and will commence shuttle and charter services once the travel bans are lifted.

Whilst the pandemic has caused a significant headwind to all airlines worldwide, we remain able and ready to service our partners and clients, with the usual high standards of safety, reliability and customer relations that we are renown for.

We are confident that the outlook for 2021 is looking good and we are making sure that we reach this to meet your full needs as usual. This pandemic will soon pass, and our beautiful country with its wonderful people will soon return to being a huge attraction to the travel industry.

Deferral of the Fastjet Victoria Falls to Nelspruit route

Update - Deferral of the Fastjet Victoria Falls to Nelspruit, Kruger Mpumalanga route

Federal Airlines wishes to inform their valued guests that the planned new route between Victoria Falls and Kruger-Mpumalanga (KMIA), which was to be operated by Fastjet, will now be deferred to 2021.

Fastjet reported that the business decision made to defer the launch was as a result of the global decline in travel demand and the uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic.
Further details on dates will be advised and communicated in due course.
All agents holding affected bookings with Federal Airlines will be contacted with alternate options.
Federal Airlines continue to offer exclusive, private charters to Victoria Falls, Kruger-Mpumalanga, and any other routings.

South Africa: Phinda sky shuttle termination

#Phinda #FederalAirlines #KrugerPark

Phinda Shuttle Flight Service Termination

Effective 1 March 2017, Federal Airlines regrets to announce that we will no longer provide shuttle flights to the Phinda Private Game Reserve. Federal Airlines had three Phinda flight products; the direct Phinda shuttle to / from Johannesburg that serviced the reserve, the Phinda Airwing - the on-demand service that facilitated flights from Phinda directly to camps in the greater Kruger region and ad-hoc tailor made charter flights. We will continue to offer direct charter flights as agreed with &BEYOND.

With great appreciation for our long-standing partnership with &BEYOND we have conceded to withdrawing our Phinda base and aircraft from the Reserve to avoid an unsustainable situation as the route does not support two air service providers.

Federal Airlines remains the preferred Charter supplier to &BEYOND and we would like to assure our valued clients that private charter flights to / from Phinda are available. Federal Airlines operates a diverse fleet of aircraft which cater to all sectors of the charter market can be accommodated with our unique charter service, offering guests a direct, on-demand charter alternative.

In addition to all our other dialy shuttle’s to various destinations, Federal Airlines would like to assure our clients that we will continue to provide a daily shuttle service to &BEYOND’s Ngala Camp in the Northern Sabi Sand, both from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International and Kruger-Mpumalanga International Airports.
