Botswana: Flame of Africa: Picnic in Chobe

What’s New in Chobe?

Chobe Chow, Park Picnic with a Difference!

Yes, you could have a Picnic in the Chobe National Park, a pre packed lunch will fill the spot. That would be the normal thing to do, I am sure most would agree that at Flame of Africa we are not normal, we don’t do normal. We always say we design activities around what we like to do ourselves and as such the Chobe Chow was born.

We decided the packed lunch was just not for us, we felt a full restaurant setup with a Braai and Bar will suit us better. So we got to work, welding and creating, and our Pop up Restaurant emerged.

The Chobe Chow can comfortably accommodate up to 20 hungry game viewers. Breakfast and lunch time trips are available. As the meal is served deep into the park you will enjoy a pre and post game drive. The total time on the activity is 6 hours, that means over 4 hours of game viewing with a three course meal included. We promise those “here, hold my beer’ moments.

On Board Braai (BBQ) cooks up a storm for you while you enjoy the beautiful view of the Chobe River.

It is very important to always make sure you are never dehydrated, our inclusive well stocked bar on the other side to keep you thoroughly refreshed.

Your Breakfast or Lunch is served right in the heart of the Chobe National Park, as you can see here Pumba has joined us for lunch. Please be on the lookout for all types of animals and please listen to our guides at all times, predators also enjoy a well cooked steak along with the sides too.

Yes, no sign of a packed lunch in site. Quality food served at your own private restaurant amid the deep wild of The Chobe National Park.

Covid-19 has had such an effect on the world. It’s safe to say, everyone has felt the effects of this Pandemic. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost loved ones. No doubt the lasting effects of this Pandemic will continue to be felt for many, many years.

If 20/20 is perfect vision as they say, what did we start to see clearly from 2020 onwards?

According to the WHO Positive Aspects of Covid-19 Pandemic we saw,

Reduced Road Traffic meant less Road Traffic Accidents.

Crime Rates have Fallen.

Lower Air Pollution has lead to lower heart attacks.

Family communication has improved.

While we watched the Earth heal we took the opportunity to reinvent ourselves and our products too. We have always thought of ourselves as creative and innovative, but doing so amidst this pandemic certainly put us to the test. We want to share some of these exciting developments with you. Each week we will showcase a new product and why we like it. Once our new products run out we will remember some of our family favorites and why we say they are our favorites.
