Camping2Go

Camping2Go is a new Gondwana product born from the world-wide desire for an effortless outdoor experience. Starting with an introduction price of N$450 per person per night (price valid until 31 October 2019), it is sure to be one of the most affordable and comfortable ways of camping for those who are not necessarily equipped to camp. Welcome to the Namibian way of life.

Several fully equipped permanent tents have been set up near Namib Desert Lodge (8 safari tents) and Kalahari Anib Lodge (4 safari tents), each with four beds, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a kitchen that includes a fridge, stove, sink and all the necessary cooking utensils and cutlery. There is an outside braai, as well as a firepit. Campers can also make use of the facilities at the nearby lodges and join their activities.

Gondwana intends to roll out the Camping2Go concept to most of its properties. Next on the list is Etosha Safari Camping2Go in August 2019.

Feel closer - at the new Kalahari Anib Lodge

Something old, something new: The beautiful courtyard at the Kalahari Anib Lodge will be left as is.

Kalahari Anib Lodge will be undergoing a rigorous three-month facelift early next year. Following the rebranding in 2014, the ‘Feel Closer’ theme will now be implemented to enhance the Kalahari experience of our guests. The lodge will close for alterations and extensive renovations on 4 January 2016 and reopen on 1 April.

“We trust that our partners will understand,” says Miriam Schmidt, the marketing manager of the Gondwana Collection. “Renovations have to be carried out at all the lodges at regular intervals in order to maintain the quality of the product. Alterations at Kalahari Anib Lodge will be so extensive that we decided to close for three months rather than expect guests to put up with the disturbances of construction work in progress.”

The freestanding chalets of the lodge complex will be converted into 22 comfort rooms including family units with fantastic views of the savannah. The 30 standard rooms around the courtyard will be thoroughly upgraded.

"On the whole we will bring more nature into the lodge”, says the architect in charge, Sven-Erik Staby. “The access road to the lodge will be shifted and lead through more enticing scenery in future. Walkways will be constructed behind the chalets so that guests can enjoy uninterrupted vistas of the savannah. And the new restaurant and large terrace will offer wonderful views of the waterhole to the east.” 

Kalahari Anib Lodge will reopen on 1 April 2016. Our guests can look forward to a spacious new main building which will house the reception, a souvenir shop, a bar and a restaurant with a terrace of generous proportions.

Gondwana Anib Lodge - renovations and upgrades in 2016

Gondwana Kalahari Anib Lodge will be embarking on a thorough three months refurbishments in early 2016. The lodge will close for renovations on 4 January 2016 till 1 April 2016.
Renovations at all Gondwana's establishments will be carried out at regular intervals in order to maintain the quality of group's product. Alterations at Kalahari Anib Lodge are extensive and decision has been made to close it for three months to avoid guests' disturbance.
The freestanding chalets of Anib Lodge complex are going to be converted to 22 comfort rooms including family units with majestic views of the surrounding savannahs. 30 standard rooms around the courtyard will be upgraded.
