PICNIC LUNCH WITH ELEPHANTS

Located approximately 10 km upriver from the Victoria Falls, Zambezi Elephant Trails has established Zambia's first "Elephant Encounter" offering a once in a lifetime insight into these gentle giants. Zambezi Elephant Trails practices only positive reinforcement training techniques.
Guests are invited to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park while enjoying scenic views across the Zambezi River and lunching alongside a few of our beautiful elephants - Liwa, Nandi and Liwa's young calf, Nyami. This new activity promises to be a truly memorable experience.
Photographic opportunities with the elephants shall be available.

THE LUNCH
The activity will start with a short game walk, led by our armed head guide through the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park to the riverside lunch spot. Prior to this, the head guide will give an introductory talk about the elephants including all safety related matters and the required client behaviour around the elephants and indemnities shall be signed. When guests are seated, enjoying their special riverside picnic lunch, the elephants will be nearby tucking into the surrounding vegetation having a meal of their own. The guide will be close by to answer any questions or queries.
This is a truly up close and personal opportunity to view elephants in their natural surroundings and a great time to take some amazing and memorable photographs.
Each elephant is under the charge of an experienced handler, who is familiar with the characteristics and behavioural patterns of our elephants.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge update

As a result of extremely unusual torrential wind and rain storms recently experienced in this area in the month of January, we have discovered signs of strain on a few gum-‐poles in the apex of our main building, which is causing some concern to our engineers.
For this reason, we have been required to undertake some remedial maintenance work on the roof structure, during the period 02 March to 11 March 2016 inclusive.
