News from Machaba Safaris

Machaba Safaris is launching a new camp in Hwange National Park, in Zimbabwe - Verney’s Camp.

The booking sheets are open and the Camp is opening on the 1st May 2018. We are offering overnight site inspections from mid-April for those of you coming out to the trade shows over that time.

Verney’s Camp is built in the classical Machaba style with large spacious tents on wooden decks,  pathways meandering through the teak forest beneath which the camp resides. The main areas and fireside overlook a large waterhole, typical of Hwange National Park. This waterhole teems with wildlife in the drier months. Game drives and walks with armed rangers will be the standard offering with night drives and stargazing in the evenings.

Verney’s Camp is situated in the central eastern part of the Park, on a private concession of 10 000 hectare’s deep within the National Park.

The camp is comprised of 10 luxury tents, two of which are family tents. The camp holds a maximum of 24 guests.

Pilot and guide accommodation is also available as is a private vehicle option.

Be sure to keep an eye out for updates as we will keep you posted on the progress.

Currently the back of house has been completed with the Decks of the main area and tents to follow.

We are offering free transfers from Hwange Main Camp to Verney’s Camp, for those driving in or been driven in.

For those flying, access is via the Manga airstrip, which is a short drive away from camp, please contact reservations for rates.

Get your bookings in now while we still have space. Bookings can be made through the usual Machaba Safaris channels.
