Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) records increased number of Namibians staying at its national parks and holiday camps.
Most of NWR's camps and resorts in Namibia were fully booked between December 16 and 31 last year. It may indicate changing perception that NWR is oriented towards overseas tourists only.
Even though the December 2014 numbers of visitors to the camps and resorts were slightly lower than those of 2013, it remains high compared to previous years.
There were 2 649 Namibian visitors at NWR camps and resorts in December 2014, compared to the 3 258 visitors recorded in December 2013.
NWR is impressed with the level at which the newly renovated Gross Barmen Resort was visited by day visitors and those staying overnight.
NWR introduced the NamLeisure card, which entitles cardholders to a 50 percent discount and it played a huge role in ensuring more people seeing its camps and resorts.
