Namibia: Moon Mountain Lodge reopening

Moon Mountain Lodge will reopen on the 1st of February 2021

The Lodge offers luxury tented accommodation in the Namib Desert. Situated at the foot of the Naukluft Mountains, and adjacent to the C19 road situated 30 km south of Solitaire. En-route to the apricot-colored dunes of Sossusvlei, yet far enough for travelers looking for privacy and solitude, the lodge is ideal for independent travelers.

There are 11 Luxury tented rooms with en-suite bathroom and a private deck with a splash pool. There are also 6 spacious suites boasting all these facilities plus an extra private lounge area for the ultimate relaxation hub. The units are elevated on stilts above the surroundings, making it extra environmentally friendly. The chic canvas construction permits ventilation from the prevailing west wind that cools the rooms at the hottest time of the year. This ultimately makes guests feel closer to nature. As you are surrounded by a breath-taking environment, there is no need for television. Scattered herds of gemsbok, springbok, and mountain zebra can be viewed from the privacy of your unit while they graze the plains below.

Honeymooners or those who want to enjoy a romantic night in can request room service for dinner. Each room has a fridge.

The Nebula Restaurant is well-known for its delicious traditional meals. Seasonal vegetables are grown on-site. Grab a drink at Cosmos Bar and relax on the deck overlooking the Namib’s petrified dunes at sunset and stargaze the night away.

Activities around the lodge and the Naukluft Park are ideal for self-drive guests who prefer a leisurely outing. Wholesome picnic breakfast packs are provided for guests who leave early on their excursions to Sosssuvlei and the Sesriem Canyon. Hikers can follow various trails in Naukluft Mountains and swim in the natural water pools to cool down. Polish your day off with a sunset nature drive before dinner time.
