The Delight Swakopmund: newest Gondwana portfolio addition
The Delight Swakopmund has been presented on 10 June this year to 200 invited guests at the Namibia Tourism Expo reception.
Gondwana sees new hotel as an opportunity to complete the traditional Gondwana route: guests will travel from Namib Desert Lodge in Namib-Naukluft Park and continue to Damaraland and further to Etosha Park.
Swakopmund is a town of contrasts offering a number of very special experiences. Town is surrounded by the unspoilt Namib Desert, a number of exhilirating activities from skydiving to dune boarding are offered while having the flair of historic German architecture and rich history.
The Delight Swakopmund is located in the historic centre of Swakopmund. Historical landmarks, shops and town beach are all within walking distance. The hotel offers 44 double rooms with modern furnishings and 10 loft rooms for travelling families. The Delight Swakopmund will offer breakfasts but no dinner as there are many restaurants near by.
The Delight Swakopmund is Gondwana’s first accommodation establishment in an urban environment. Gondwana expects that not only tourists but also business travellers will become regular guests of teh new hotel. At present Namibian coastal economy is boosted by new mining operations in the vicinity of Swakopmund and the expansion of the port of Walvis Bay and new hotel will become one of main attractions.
