Best Property in Africa for Resource Management 2015 has been awarded to Chobe Game Lodge recently.
A press release from the lodge states that the awards took place at the African Responsible Tourism Awards at the World Travel Market Africa in Cape Town on 16 April 2015.
Report states that an independent judging panel of writers, tourism professionals and responsible tourism leaders selected the game lodge as the winner out of five finalists in the category.
The judges were most impressed by the lodge's commitment to reforming the entire waste management from biogas production from the kitchen waste to the use of the first electric-game viewing fleet in Africa together with the ultimate aim of reducing dependency on the grid.
This award means that the lodge will be automatically in line for the World Responsible Tourism awards taking place in London in November this year. Chobe Game lodge pioneered new ground on ecotourism by launching the first ever electric fleet comprising an electric game drive car and electric boat in November 2014.
