Kruger National Park flood update

Following heavy rains encountered in and around the northern Kruger areas earlier in 2013, certain camps and facilities have been affected.

All camps have now been reopened

Shingwedzi Camp has been partially opened. However the Restaurant remains closed.  The Camp Site, Filling Station, Shop, Day Visitors Picnic Spot (inside the camp), Swimming Pool and all accommodation (A & B circle bungalows & Rentmeester Guest House) have reopened. The Eastern Gate, the old Causeway and Kanniedood Hide remain closed until they have been repaired.
Access to Balule Camp via Olifants River Causeway is still closed and camp can only be accessed via S89 & S90. Repairs to the Olifants River Causeway are expected to be completed by April 2014.
Guests are encouraged to stay on tarred roads where possible. All tarred roads are open except the following:

H7 (Orpen to Satara) major breach at S24.404923 E31.549712 (S106 to be used as alternative by light vehicles (under 4 tons) only).
All gravel roads are open except the following:

S90 (Old Main Road) (Open from south until S89 turnoff – Balule causeway still inaccessible – Repairs to the Olifants River Causeway are expected to be completed by  April 2014).
S135 (Shingwedzi  Causeway Loop)
All Gates and Ports of Entry are open.
