Sossusvlei: Dark Sky Reserve
Sossusvlei is located so far from any human settlement that the light pollution is non-existent here, making it's night skies among the darkest on Earth. The International Dark Sky Association, the established authority on Earth light pollution, has certified Sossusvlei region in the Namib Desert as one of its Dark Sky Reserves because of its spectacular starry nights.
